Location Askrigg is a charming village in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. The village is ideally placed for walking and has 3 pubs, an excellent cafe, a craft shop, a newsagents/village store and also a small brewery.Askrigg is famous for featuring as Darrowby in the original series of All Creatures Great and Small. Cringley House was the vet's surgery and the Kings Arms pub was used as the fictional Drover's Arms. ActivitiesAskrigg is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is an excellent base for walking, cycling, horse riding and scenic drives. The Yorkshire Three Peaks (Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-Ghent) are all within a 45 minute drive. The stunning scenery of Malham and the atmospheric Fountains Abbey (National Trust) are both around an hour away.
Askrigg Pubs The Crown Inn - ('top pub') a friendly and welcoming family run pub, offering a range of fine cask ales and excellent home cooked food using locally sourced produce.

House - ('middle pub') under new ownership, we haven't been yet
but we're seeing some great reviews!
The Kings Arms - ('bottom pub')
originally styled bar with restaurant offering excellent food, a selection of beers from the
local village brewery, a comprehensive wine list, and an extensive
range of gins sourced from the Yorkshire Dales.

Heather & Grouse - arts and crafts shopis
run by a group of
crafters, makers and artists based in the Yorkshire Dales, who have
come together to run a not-for-profit cooperative shop. Askrigg
Coffee Shops
The
Bake-Well -
Fab food and friendly service in this small but delightful cafe,
offering soups, sandwiches, quiches and other savoury bakes, delicious
cakes and scones as well as a range of hot and cold drinks. Home made
ready meals to take away are also available. Askrigg Supermarket
Sykes
House - possibly the smallest supermarket you will ever visit, in
its small space it stocks over 400 product ranges.
